In the ninth edition of our Not-For-Profit Risks and Compliance Newsletter, The ACNC has released the commission’s Charity Compliance Report (2018) and has noted the concerns raised about charities and have summarised their approach and key findings surrounding these concerns.
As good governance is a continued focus, we have provided an overview of the recently updated Not-For-Profit Governance Principles as published by the Australian Institute of Company Directors. We have also included another reminder regarding the significant impact the new accounting standards will have on the financial statements, suggesting that NFPs should work through these before their next financial year-end.
Finally, we cover new legislation that may impact NFPs, the revised Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants and other activities of the ACNC and government.
