After many years developing my taxation expertise at large multinational accounting firms, I co-founded Spencer Steer which later merged with Hill Rogers in 2010. I earned a Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW, I'm a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and I'm also a Chartered Tax Advisor with The Tax Institute.
I provide advice on tax effective structures, extraordinary transactions, estate planning, analysis of investments and the sale, acquisition, restructure and valuation of businesses. I work across all aspects of tax compliance (income tax, GST, FBT) including tax planning, consolidation and international tax matters and pride myself on providing responsive and customised service.

I have a Bachelor of Business from Charles Sturt University, I have a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand as well as an accredited SMSF Specialist Advisor with the SMSF Association and a CA SMSF Specialist.
Ming Kei (Larry) Lam

I am a legally qualified chartered tax adviser with taxation advisory experience gained from working in tax advisory teams across chartered accounting firms (both big 4 and mid-tier) and a top tier Australian law firm.
My core practice involves equipping clients with the necessary tools and guidance to navigate their tax profile, to ensure they well informed to suit their circumstances and objectives. My clients include small to medium businesses, family groups, small listed companies, expatriates, and not-for-profit entities.
I lead a team that has deep experience in general tax planning, cross border tax structuring, the provision of tax advice in connection with business sale transactions, tax due diligence assignments, tax controversy and not for profit tax reviews.

Ferdinando (Fred) Scali

I am a past member Faculty of Law at the University of Technology Sydney where I taught taxation law for over twelve years and hold both past and present, a range of Directorships including international chambers of commerce and not for profit organisations, including Skin and Cancer Foundation Australia, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Opera Foundation Australia. I'm also a nominated Executor to various Estates.
I joined Hill Rogers in 1975 as a school leaver and was admitted to partnership in 1982 at age 26. I have a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the University of Technology Sydney and a Master of Business (Tax Law) from University of Technology Sydney. I'm a Fellow of the Institute Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA), a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia; I'm also a Chartered Tax Advisor and a Registered Company Auditor.

I hold significant expertise in the management of large corporate groups and over three decades I've gained considerable expertise in taxation planning, transaction structuring and group restructures. I provide support and advice for large corporate groups and virtual CFO services to smaller clients.
I've been with Hill Rogers since 1991 and have over 35 years’ experience as a Chartered Accountant. I hold undergraduate degrees in Accounting and in Commerce (Business Administration) and I'm a Fellow of the Instituted Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (FCA), as well as being a Registered Tax Agent and a Registered Company Auditor.
I joined Hill Rogers in 1987 when my own practice merged with the firm. My background includes substantial experience in audit, which gave him first-hand experience of the internal workings of many different companies in many different industry sectors. I now put that expertise to work advising businesses on strategic issues, including strategic planning; business planning; management consulting; mergers, acquisitions and sales; structuring and restructuring. I'm a permanent advisor to many clients’ advisory committees, and enjoy giving the practical, down-to-earth advice that clients need to hear in order to have the best chance of success.
My passion for helping organisations to succeed extends to a raft of positions with not-for-profit and community welfare organisations, particularly a number of independent schools which I advise on financial management and planning.
Chela-Marie Gonzalez is a confident and positive Human Resources Manager, with over 10 years experience in professional services. As the leader of the Hill Rogers Human Resources team, Chela-Marie is responsible for linking the firm’s values and goals to our HR strategy, to ensure we have the best, motivated talent to execute our organisational objectives. Her strong relationship management and influence skills allow her to implement best practice HR Programs including recruitment and talent attraction, employee engagement and organisational change.
I work as Portfolio Manager in the Business Solutions division, and have the responsibility for managing everything from small family groups, to the Australian arm of multinational companies.
I started in the Business Services division at the predecessor firm Spencer Steer in 2006, which has since merged into the firm Hill Rogers.
I formally joined Hill Rogers in 2007 after a 3 month secondment from Sept to Dec 2006. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and completed my CPA in the Philippines. While in the Philippines, I have worked extensively in commercial audits for 10 years. Upon joining Hill Rogers in June 2007, I started with the Audit Division for 2 years, transitioned to the Business Solutions Division, and now currently one of the Portfolio Managers in the team. I specialise in compliance and advisory services in corporate entities involving tax consolidations, international dealings, management accounts reporting, deferred tax accounting.

I am an Audit Manager. After I worked in audit in China, I came to Australia to continue my passion in audit and became a Chartered Accountant.
With over 10 years of audit experience, my exposure covers both for-profit and non-for-profit organisations, including an extensive portfolio of local government entities, charities and community care organisations.
My Chinese background allowed me to expand my assurance engagements to Chinese owed entities in Australia, assisting them to meet reporting requirements in mainland China.

I am now the Manager in the Superannuation Team specialising in compliance and tax services for Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF). I provide practical and reliable tax information to help fund trustees in this complex field. I also help clients set up and administer their SMSFs to build their retirement savings and meet statutory compliance.
After graduating from UWA, I started my accountancy career in 2006 and became a Chartered Accountant in 2009. I am also a Chartered Tax Adviser. After 9 years at a top international mid-tier accounting firm, I moved to Sydney and joined Hill Rogers as a Tax Manager in 2016. I specialise in corporate tax compliance and advisory, international taxation, corporate structuring, tax consolidations, and mergers/acquisition transactions. My taxation compliance and advisory experience has helped many Australian and international businesses operating across a broad range of industries.
My extensive experience as a professional in audit and assurance began in 2008. I am a Chartered Accountant and now have specific experience with many local government councils, local government service organisations, member based groups and not-for-profit organisations.
